Tom Becktold serves as Business Wire's Senior Vice President of Marketing. In addition to leading the company's U.S. marketing efforts, Tom was instrumental in establishing successful programs as the company expanded internationally, including in Canada, the U.K, Germany, France and Japan.
A 20+-year Business Wire veteran, Tom also oversees the company's successful trade show and events division, which builds relationships with the world's leading event organizations to provide public relations support services to member companies and their audiences.
Tom was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing in December 2006. He joined the company in 1988 as a news editor in the Los Angeles bureau, and later held positions as an account executive and regional manager (Newport Beach office).
He has served on local chapter boards for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Prior to joining Business Wire, Tom worked in consumer and media relations at Hill & Knowlton, Los Angeles.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
