Danny
Selnick, Vice President for Public Policy and LatinoWire Services at
Business Wire, is 25+year veteran of the industry. Danny has acted in an
advisory capacity to senior-level communicators working in government,
associations, advocacy groups, political campaigns, organized labor,
non-profits, foreign governments and corporations.
In
January 2007, Danny was brought on to create a portfolio of distribution
services for Business Wire that enable associations, advocacy groups,
non-profits, unions and government agencies to communicate their news and
points of view even more effectively to critical audiences including, the
media, decision-makers, influentials and the public. He directs the national
program for Business Wire. In 2012,
Danny was asked to spear-head Business Wire’s LatinoWire of distribution –
reaching traditional and on-line Spanish-language media, bloggers and other
online Hispanic communities across the U.S.
Danny
is co-chair of the Professional Development Committee of the National Capital
Chapter of PRSA and a member of the National Press Club's Luncheon Speakers and
PR/Communications Committees. He's also President of the
International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ring 50 for the Washington, DC
area.
Before
joining Business Wire, Danny lived and worked out of his virtual office in Bogota, Colombia,
where he was Vice President for PR Newswires public policy group. Previous to
his move south, he ran their Washington
office for 20 years. His career started on Wall Street as a researcher and
analyst at EF Hutton and Company. He holds a Masters degree in International
Affairs and Business from Columbia
University.
