Integrated Social Media Marketing Campaign Celebrating Business Wire’s 50th Anniversary Garners FOURTH SNCR Award
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Business Wire’s marketing team earned its fourth award from the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR) last week, a Commendation of Merit Award for New Communications Research Excellence. The Award was announced at the 6th Annual SNCR Symposium & Awards Gala held at Harvard University’s Faculty Club on November 3-4.
Competing in the Social Marketing / Corporate category, Business Wire entered a cross discipline social media and integrated marketing campaign developed by its marketing team--Thomas Becktold, Monika Maeckle, Phil Dennison, Amy Yen, and Jessica Lueck—who worked closely with a committee of Company volunteers assembled to commemorate Business Wire’s 50th birthday.
The campaign included traditional advertising, optimized press releases and a special event featuring Warren Buffett and Business Wire CEO Cathy Baron Tamraz at the NYSE. The committee recommended a public service program, Business Wire Gives Back, whereby Business Wire provided paid time off to employees who volunteered their time to worthy causes. The program was approved and adopted earlier this year.
Social media elements included a dedicated blogging campaign, Twitter and Facebook outreach and a Facebook-centric college video contest posing the question: What is the future of public relations? The campaign scored the Company TV, web and print news coverage around the world.
